Now is your chance to discover just how easy it can be to enjoy all that Balsam Mountain Preserve has to offer. Treat yourself to hiking, biking, fishing, and breathtaking mountain views, and you will soon be able to enjoy our new Arnold Palmer signature golf course. All this can be yours with The Boarding House Partners Program, a convenient and maintenance-free way to be a part of the unique community in Western North Carolina.Consisting of ten individual cabins and the Dining Hall Lodge, The Boarding House is set on a beautiful ridge at an elevation of 3,700 feet. Each distinctively designed cabin is fully appointed with artwork and furnishings inspired by its' mountain setting.
The Boarding House Partners Program is a limited opportunity to receive two cabin weeks of reserved time per quarter (totaling eight weeks annually), plus additional time on a "space available" basis. A very flexible use program enables partners to use one cabin with sleeping accommodations for two to four, or two cabins joined by a view porch offering sleeping accommodations for up to six. Shared ownership is being limited to only 40 deeded interests to allow increased flexibility of use by all partners.
The Dining Hall Lodge
The 6,600 square foot Dining Hall Lodge serves as a hospitable dining and gathering spot for the members of Balsam Mountain. The Dining Hall provides unequaled opportunities to leave the busy world behind without abandoning the comforts of home. Here you'll find a dining room, gathering room, bar, library, and welcoming porches with an outdoor fireplace.The Cabins
Taking cues from the past as inspiration for the future, the Boarding House complex includes ten distinctively designed cabins. Built of antique wood and dry stacked stone, the charming cabins are comprised of sustainable building materials selected for their environmental safety and energy efficiency. Pine shake roofs are joined by reclaimed tin covering porches made from recycled materials.The Grounds
The Grounds of the Boarding House feature several different outdoor living areas for your relaxation and enjoyment. Spilling down from the front of the Dining Hall Lodge, the Lawn provides a welcoming atmosphere for guests. If outdoor entertaining is in your plan, you may wish to utilize the rustic atmosphere of our Cookhouse with its built-in cooking facilities. Have a seat on the Lawn in an authentic Adirondack chair, and enjoy gentle breezes while savoring your refreshments, as well as amazing mountain vistas. For added convenience, you may wish to have your Cookhouse affair catered by the Dining Hall, or just call the concierge service and let them make the arrangements for you.Balsam Mountain Preserve
