Practice Made Perfect
The Palmer Practice Park lives up to the legend behind its name. Bentgrass teeing surfaces. Target fairways and greens. Even a six-hole short course to hone your wedges. “The Park” is home to the Balsam Mountain Academy, where golfers of every skill level will find expert instruction certain to make each round more enjoyable, and for the devoted, a welcome reduction in handicap. In addition to private lessons, a variety of regularly scheduled group lessons have become favorite social gatherings for members — and every so often a game of golf breaks out.
Looking to learn as a family? Sign up together and go through any of our Balsam Modules. And never to overlook is the simply amazing short pitching course, built right into one of the most impressive ranges in the country. One of the great joys of life is sharing a passion with those you love, for this is a game that builds character and sportsmanship — said another way: lessons for life.
Looking to improve your putting? The Balsam Academy has designed a putting program to help improve your roll and help you lower your score. The putting program will cover: grip, aim, posture and setup; distance control; green reading; and will end with drills to help retain the instruction players receive at the Club.
Ready to rapidly improve your game? There is no faster way to lower your scores than by working on your game from 80 yards and in. In this module we cover chipping, pitching, and greenside bunker play. It’s designed with repetition and muscle memory in mind, so your lessons become like another club in your bag on your next round.
Need more consistency in your long game? Let’s get there by optimizing what you do naturally in your swing to hit more fairways and greens. All of which will make you the envy, and a favorite playing partner in our season of tournaments and regular groups.
